Over the course of almost 800 years, various illustrious families have lived their lives amongst the palaces and loggias – including the Marquises Rambaldi, the Counts Guerrieri, and finally, the Counts Rizzardi, who remain the custodians of this precious heritage.
Between the stone walls and the inviting courtyard, you can still feel the charm of bygone days, when Borgo Bardolino was the location of the famous Guerrieri Rizzardi winery, which has been upholding the tradition of wine production for over four centuries. The newly built modern winery is now situated amidst vineyards in the adjacent hills of Bardolino.
In 2016, the buildings of various epochs and styles, which were originally used as barrel cellars, workshops, lemon greenhouses and even as a courthouse, were given new life. Today, Borgo Bardolino is an elegant, vibrant place, with a fountain serving as the centrepiece of the courtyard, surrounded by stylish restaurants, fashion boutiques and the exclusive holiday apartments of Rambaldi Apartments, all recreating the atmosphere of an ancient Italian village.
